I have always had a talent for learning foreign languages rather quickly and decided that I wanted to become a translator when I was in high school. Japanese was my language of choice because I found that the grammar and verb conjugation was very different from English and other Romance languages, therefore interesting. I have been studying Japanese on my own with textbooks since 2002, was able to take Japanese courses in college for 2 years, and had the opportunity of studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai University for a semester, where I was completely immersed in the Japanese language. I think that Babel Professional School of Translation is the perfect school through which to obtain my master’s degree because it allows me to study from wherever I am through the online course options, as I do not live in Hawaii or Japan. I would be able to work at my own pace. My chosen major would be the Patent, Technical and Medical Translation, as I would love to contribute to the world the future of technology through translation. My ultimate dream job would also be to translate websites, because I have been doing web design and development since I was in junior high school. It combines both of my hobbies and would be a very enjoyable career.
